Tunesmith jimmy webb5/1/2023 ![]() Without recognizing the good things life has to offer – the priceless gift of the distant laughter of children – we become sour pendants”. “Without being able to expose ourselves to pain – to break down and cry if need be – we won’t have what we need to be songwriters or even human beings. A good songwriter also stays emotionally connected. It will also include a destination which will consume the bulk of the efforts of the songwriter in getting from here to there the best way possible. The ideas come from something about which the writer feels passionately (loathing or hating). Webb says, “Song ideas are the most intense longings of the soul and its deepest regrets”. ![]() He begins by talking about where songs come from. I found Tunesmith to be engaging and informative on many levels, discovering many principles within its pages that I began applying immediately. Webb also chronicles the history of modern songwriting and gives an inside view of what it was like in the early days contrasted with today. Weaving stories and personal anecdotes with vital technical and experiential advice as well as giving examples of well-written (or poorly-written) lyrics, Webb has created a valuable resource for even the most novice of beginners, like me. Those pursuing the art of songwriting would do well to pick up Tunesmith by Jimmy Webb, a seasoned songwriter with a wealth of insight and knowledge. For a show that is much more than just a concert, be sure to share “An Evening With Jimmy Webb”.For the Essentials In Songwriting Certificate Course with Dan Wilt Webb’s first book, Tunesmith: Inside the Art of Songwriting, in addition to being a good read, is considered a “bible” among musicians.Jimmy mentioned that he is still performing 50 to 70 dates a year. Jimmy Webb’s latest book, his memoir The Cake and the Rain (2017) brings to life a 15-year span in Webb’s unique career, written with the same sense of poetry and story as his many hits. A Master Pianist, Webb also included a selection from his latest album “SlipCover”, his piano interpretations of contemporary composers including friends Billy Joel and Randy Newman. Throughout the night Jimmy conversed with the audience, performing all his hits and at 73 yrs old, not afraid to ask the crowd for help in hitting some of the high notes. While the “Highwayman”, a song about a soul with incarnations in four different places in time and history, Webb tells us also inspired the naming of the super group featuring legends Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, and Kris Kristofferson. “Galveston”, “Wichita Lineman”, and “By The Time I Get To Phoenix”, were all mega hits for the Webb/Campbell team. There is a story for every song and his memories of working with the late great Glen Campbell that had the audience at the Odeum enthralled. Jimmy Webbs current tour, “An Evening with Jimmy Webb” is about equal parts music and storytelling and Jimmy Webb is a master of both. Allysen Callery’s performance has earned her a spot on the “Must See” list for anyone in the New England area. A local talent from Bristol, R.I., Allysen presented herself well with a brief set of her own songs including “Shoot Me”, “Spare Parts”, and “Azores Song” that showcased her unique sound and pleasing vocals.Ĭallery closed with an exceptional arrangement of Gordon Lightfoot’s “Sundown” that left the audience wanting more. The evening began with the beautiful voice of Allysen Callery. He has garnered accolades such as he was the youngest member ever inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, and the only artist ever to have received Grammy Awards for music, lyrics and orchestration. Songwriter Jimmy Webb wrote many of the hits that dominated the airwaves for decades. From Frank Sinatra and Barbra Streisand, to Guns N’ Roses, Little Big Town, Jimmy’s work has even been used by rap artist Kanye West (Do What You Gotta Do” a central hook in “Famous”). His impressive lineup of hits such as “Up Up and Away” (The 5th Dimension),” MacArthur Park” (Richard Harris), and “The Worst That Could Happen” (Johnny Maestro & the Brooklyn Bridge) has made him one of music’s most prolific songwriters recorded by artists of all generations and genres. Venue: The Greenwich Odeum, East Greenwich, Rhode Island-October 25, 2019–Jimmy Webb with Allysen Callery Jimmy WebbĪt first you may not recognize the name but if you listened to AM radio in the 60’s and 70’s, you know the music. ![]() By Mike McKenney, Rock At Night New England

Battletech archer5/1/2023 ![]() There exists the chance of this pilot not splitting his, her, or its missiles between targets early in the battle. However, the Archer's pilot is not told about the tech base of the enemy. Some, however, are "held in reserve", and may need some time to get ready. The enemy carriers have 423 aircraft between them. If 50% of these shots hit, the Archer could destroy two aircraft per second with these. These could each fire once every 10 seconds 0.25 shots/second collectively. I know their range in BattleTech is shorter, but I opted to use the AeroTech ranges because they're much longer and easier to believe. I may be wrong, as I lost my copy of Total Warfare. The other guns it has are four Medium Lasers mounted in the arms. Split fully, they could kill about 144 aircraft. It does, however, only have 18 salvos of them. If the Archer does not fire its lasers or move, it can keep firing LRMs while staying cool. It'd only be a problem when alpha-striking. The smaller missile systems allow for better splitting of fire, and saves on mass. The custom configuration I outlined, however, has eight smaller missile systems, and a full 50% more ammunition. If a single Battletech-verse LRM proves to be complete overkill against an Azur Lane-verse carrier aircraft, the Archer will be wasting loads fo ammunition if it does come stock. The LRMs in each salvo cannot target different units after most part of any given salvo destroys the target. Stock, it comes with 12 salvos of LRMs 40 per salvo, 20 per launcher. It should be noted, however, that the bulk of its firepower comes from its missile launchers. All of its weapons should be able to target aircraft. The carrier force will spawn in the large opening in the river system to the southeast of this map. They will fight in the War Thunder map Abandoned Factory. The freed-up tonnage is used to take two more tons of LRM-20 ammo this ammo is stored in the side torsos, split evenly between them. Two tons of armor are stripped from the machine, mainly from the legs and the rear torso. The two rear-firing Medium Lasers are moved to the arms one more for each arm for two lasers per arm.The saved tonnage is used to take two more heat sinks one is mounted in the engine and the other in the center torso. The LRM-20s are replaced with eight LRM-5s four in each side torso. The ARC-2R has the following modifications: The carriers are stock, with whatever loadouts they had when they first appeared in the Azur Lane cartoon. If not enough related to durability and firepower exist in the cartoon for any decent gauging of such things, then, for the purposes of this debate, they may use calcs, derived from the ships they personify. ![]() The carriers will get feats from the Azur Lane cartoon. The Archer will use AeroTech weapon ranges, and firepower and durability calcs that make its weapons far superior to those that exist in the actual 21st century. Both sides also know of the others' starting locations. The carriers are told that the complex is defended by "extremely heavy AA" and "very light coastal artillery", and that the AA weapons "could only fire for an hour at most". ![]() The Archer is only told to expect "massive air attacks" and "moderate naval bombardment". The Archer is driven by a bloodlusted MechWarrior with whatever passes for Piloting Skill and Gunnery Skill 4 in the Battletech universe. The carriers are motivated to destroy the Archer but are otherwise in-character. Carrier Divisions 1, 2, and 5 as they appear in Azur Lane will face off against a modified ARC-2R Archer from Battletech.

Nzbget password5/1/2023 Some ex-employees might still have access to information they should no longer be privy to. Organizations are slow to take control over user accounts belonging to employees who are no longer part of the organization. You need to make use of antivirus software that combats against malware and other virus attacks. Ear trumpet volume reset5/1/2023 ![]() Start PowerShell.exe as administrator and then run this command: Get-AppxPackage | Foreach This particular fix applies to Windows 10 and may not be required if you’re running Windows 11. See if the volume control button works now. This restarts the explorer shell and refreshes the Start menu and taskbar (Shell experience host). (For more information, check out the article How to Exit Explorer and Restart Explorer) Right-click Windows Explorer in the list, and click Restart. In Task Manager Processes tab, scroll down to the Windows processes category.Right-click on the Taskbar, and click Task Manager. The quickest way to resolve the issue is to restart the Explorer shell. The volume control icon may fail to respond intermittently for unknown reasons. Using keyboard to control the volume (with an AutoHotKey script) Taskbar Volume Control Icon does not work Fix 1: Restart Explorer via Task Manager.Enable the legacy Volume Control slider. While the taskbar volume control icon is non-responsive, audio may still work on the computer, and you’re able to open sndvol.exe and adjust the volume. The right-click menu has options to open the volume mixer, sound settings, launch the Sounds applet where you can enable/disable playback and recording devices, and alter other properties. When the Taskbar gets stuck, none of the notification area icons respond. The speaker volume control slider and the context menu that appears when you right-click on the speaker icon use the modern UI (a.k.a immersive shell). Moreover, the immersive shell menu responsiveness is usually a bit slow compared to the classic Windows menus. It was not unusual to see the Taskbar or the Start menu become non-responsive, especially in the earliest Windows 10 builds. ![]() Right from the early Windows 10 builds, the Start menu and Taskbar (immersive shell) have always been buggy. This post explains how to fix the volume control (speaker) icon in Windows 10 and Windows 11.

Create drawing print to scale5/1/2023 If you have previously saved a custom or calibrated scale to your presets, they will be listed at the top.Select Preset and select the scale from the Scale drop-down list.Use a comma to define pages that are separated.įor example: 1-3, 5, 9 will include pages 1, 2, 3, 5 and 9.Use a dash between page numbers to define those two pages and all pages in between.Delete any text left in the field and enter the page or pages to be printed directly. When this option is selected, the field acts like a text box. Custom: Sets the range to a custom value. This option only appears if pages were selected prior to invoking the command. Selected: Sets the range to the current selection. The current page number will appear in parentheses, for example, Current (2) if page 2 is the current page. Current: Sets the range to the current page only. All Pages: Sets the range to all pages. To change this, choose one of the following options from the Pages drop-down list: By default, the scale is applied to the current page only.Alternatively, click the page scale shown on either the Navigation bar or the Status bar (if no scale has been set for the page, this will say Scale Not Set click that instead). The Apply Scale to Pages dialog box opens. The process for setting page scales can also be started from the Thumbnails panel and some prefer it when they want to set a scale for multiple pages and find it easier to pick pages by their thumbnails. Similar functionality is available on the Measurements panel that affects just the current page, but it can be an even quicker way to set a scale as it involves even fewer mouse clicks. The methods described on this page discuss setting the scale for one or more pages at the same time. In addition, pages can have one or more viewports, areas of the drawing that are set to a different scale. Each of the three methods mentioned above provides the opportunity to set separate scales. These scales can be set using any of the available methods and different methods can be used for each, even on the same page. Calibrated scales can be saved to your preset list, too. And when you're not sure of the exact scale or whether or not there might be scaling issues with the drawing, calibrating the scale to a known length on the drawing is a simple and accurate way to set your scale. If you know the scale, but it's not in the preset list, and you're sure the PDF has no scaling errors, entering a custom scale only takes a little more time (and you can always save it to your preset list for later use). When both of these are true, using a preset scales is a fast and efficient way to set a reliable scale. Are you sure that no scaling errors occurred during the PDF creation process?.Is the scale known and common (or has it been previously saved to your list of preset scales)?.Each method has advantages and disadvantages and which is preferable depends on how you would answer a couple questions: Revu offers a few different ways to set a page scale to suit your specific needs and workflow. ![]() Accurate page scales are a vital part of taking accurate measurements and, if a page does not have an established scale, Revu will prompt you to set one before placing a measurement.

Keep truckin5/1/2023 ![]() As Bill Vitti, Chief Commercial Officer of Truckstop, said this week on Great Quarter, Guys, the $1B in capital last year will continue to push Truckstop forward and help them move faster. While perhaps not directly - startups like KeepTruckin and others began offerings that could eventually displace DAT’s value prop. Meanwhile, other companies have been making moves. It was not until just under 2 years ago that DAT offered a tracking product, which they did not integrate core mobile offering at the time. During this technology revolution over the last few years, DAT has been slow to act, and have instead doubled down on existing product. Love them or hate them, DAT has sat atop the market for brokers and shippers to connect to capacity. Visibility is more than a blue dot on a page, and DAT’s core value prop has been visiblity since long before it was sexy. However, both of these are a sign that DFM has turned a corner in the marketplace, and it may now be “table stakes” in the battle amongst brokerages to serve customer needs. Neither of these seems like a big deal by themselves. In shutting down OnePoint, KeepTruckin founder Shoaib Maka n essentially said “e’re getting out of brokerage because it’s hard,” and “e cannot be a neutral marketplace with a brokerage.” Both are true. ![]() That is not to suggest that KeepTruckin did not have designs for their brokerage, but the opportunity for KT with OnePoint was in the capacity in the platform. KeepTruckin got into the brokerage game with their acquisition of OnePoint - ostensibly to proof of concept DFM from the available capacity in their ELD network. Then came news the news that KeepTruckin had shut down their One Point acquisition to focus on their digital freight matching (“DFM”) product. When the news broke that DAT had released a competitor to Truckstop’s Book-It-Now (conveniently called “Book Now” - saving users 4 keystrokes over the Truckstop product when accounting for the space bar - and also with noting Parade AI had the name first ), I commented that DAT was playing catchup, and it wasn’t a good look - that remains true.

Last wood guide research5/1/2023 ![]() In humans in aggressive encounters, a testosterone surge produces visible reddening on the face and fear leads to pallor ( Drummond and Quay, 2001 Levenson, 2003). Artificial red (e.g., on leg bands) has likewise been shown to signal dominance in non-human animals, mimicking the natural physiological process ( Cuthill et al., 1997). Hill and Barton (2005) noted that in many non-human animals, including primate species, dominance in aggressive encounters (i.e., superior physical condition) is signaled by the bright red of oxygenated blood visible on highly vascularized bare skin. However, several other promising theoretical frameworks have also emerged in the past decade, and I review these frameworks in the following. The aforementioned theories and conceptual statements continue to motivate research on color and psychological functioning. Finally, much writing on color and psychological functioning has been completely atheoretical, focused exclusively on finding answers to applied questions (e.g., “What wall color facilitates worker alertness and productivity?”). Other conceptual statements about color and psychological functioning have focused on general associations that people have to colors and their corresponding influence on downstream affect, cognition, and behavior (e.g., black is associated with aggression and elicits aggressive behavior Frank and Gilovich, 1988 Soldat et al., 1997). Subsequent theorizing derived from Goldstein’s ideas has focused on wavelength, positing that longer wavelength colors feel arousing or warm, whereas shorter wavelength colors feel relaxing or cool ( Nakashian, 1964 Crowley, 1993). Goldstein (1942) expanded on Goethe’s intuitions, positing that certain colors (e.g., red, yellow) produce systematic physiological reactions manifest in emotional experience (e.g., negative arousal), cognitive orientation (e.g., outward focus), and overt action (e.g., forceful behavior). Theorizing on color and psychological functioning has been present since Goethe (1810) penned his Theory of Colors, in which he linked color categories (e.g., the “plus” colors of yellow, red–yellow, yellow–red) to emotional responding (e.g., warmth, excitement). Color has fascinated scholars for millennia ( Sloane, 1991 Gage, 1993).
