Battletech archer5/1/2023 ![]() There exists the chance of this pilot not splitting his, her, or its missiles between targets early in the battle. However, the Archer's pilot is not told about the tech base of the enemy. Some, however, are "held in reserve", and may need some time to get ready. The enemy carriers have 423 aircraft between them. If 50% of these shots hit, the Archer could destroy two aircraft per second with these. These could each fire once every 10 seconds 0.25 shots/second collectively. I know their range in BattleTech is shorter, but I opted to use the AeroTech ranges because they're much longer and easier to believe. I may be wrong, as I lost my copy of Total Warfare. The other guns it has are four Medium Lasers mounted in the arms. Split fully, they could kill about 144 aircraft. It does, however, only have 18 salvos of them. If the Archer does not fire its lasers or move, it can keep firing LRMs while staying cool. It'd only be a problem when alpha-striking. The smaller missile systems allow for better splitting of fire, and saves on mass. The custom configuration I outlined, however, has eight smaller missile systems, and a full 50% more ammunition. If a single Battletech-verse LRM proves to be complete overkill against an Azur Lane-verse carrier aircraft, the Archer will be wasting loads fo ammunition if it does come stock. The LRMs in each salvo cannot target different units after most part of any given salvo destroys the target. Stock, it comes with 12 salvos of LRMs 40 per salvo, 20 per launcher. It should be noted, however, that the bulk of its firepower comes from its missile launchers. All of its weapons should be able to target aircraft. The carrier force will spawn in the large opening in the river system to the southeast of this map. They will fight in the War Thunder map Abandoned Factory. The freed-up tonnage is used to take two more tons of LRM-20 ammo this ammo is stored in the side torsos, split evenly between them. Two tons of armor are stripped from the machine, mainly from the legs and the rear torso. The two rear-firing Medium Lasers are moved to the arms one more for each arm for two lasers per arm.The saved tonnage is used to take two more heat sinks one is mounted in the engine and the other in the center torso. The LRM-20s are replaced with eight LRM-5s four in each side torso. The ARC-2R has the following modifications: The carriers are stock, with whatever loadouts they had when they first appeared in the Azur Lane cartoon. If not enough related to durability and firepower exist in the cartoon for any decent gauging of such things, then, for the purposes of this debate, they may use calcs, derived from the ships they personify. ![]() The carriers will get feats from the Azur Lane cartoon. The Archer will use AeroTech weapon ranges, and firepower and durability calcs that make its weapons far superior to those that exist in the actual 21st century. Both sides also know of the others' starting locations. The carriers are told that the complex is defended by "extremely heavy AA" and "very light coastal artillery", and that the AA weapons "could only fire for an hour at most". ![]() The Archer is only told to expect "massive air attacks" and "moderate naval bombardment". The Archer is driven by a bloodlusted MechWarrior with whatever passes for Piloting Skill and Gunnery Skill 4 in the Battletech universe. The carriers are motivated to destroy the Archer but are otherwise in-character. Carrier Divisions 1, 2, and 5 as they appear in Azur Lane will face off against a modified ARC-2R Archer from Battletech.
